Paint correction

Swirls, haze and light scratches, gone

How long 1 to 3 days

Swirl marks are thousands of fine scratches in the clear coat, left by brushes, dirty towels and the wrong wash mitt. In the shade they make paint look dull; under a light they circle every reflection like a spider’s web.

Correction takes a few microns off the top of the clear coat with a machine polisher, until the scratches are levelled out. We measure the paint on every panel first, so we always know how much there is to work with, and we stop well before it gets thin.

Questions

What's the difference between one and two stages?

One stage removes most swirls and restores the gloss in a single polish. Two stages cut first and then refine, for deeper defects; it takes about twice as long.

Will every scratch come out?

If you can catch it with a fingernail, it is probably through the clear coat and needs paint. We will show you under the lamp before we start.
